About

Peter Slager

In 1995, Peter Slager graduated in Graphic Design from the Academy of Arts in Kampen (CABK). After his studies, he started working as an independent designer. For various publishers, he designs and lays out books, and he also develops visual identities — including for the Municipality of Kampen. Alongside this work, he is continually engaged in exploring new letterforms, which has resulted in a number of different typefaces.

His inspiration for type design comes from his surroundings and from music. Over time, his typeface development has gradually evolved into more autonomous work, with an increasing focus on language. The letters become part of a structure from which language constructions emerge — an attempt to gain insight into the story of his past and into how structures function in the world.
